Gorgeous Rutland Water July Wedding
Back in July we had the gorgeous wedding of Emily and Greg and whilst we wished for a warm Summer’s day, the reality was torrential rain and gale force winds! They held their civil ceremony in the beautiful Normanton Church on the banks of the south shore of the Rutland Water reservoir with a tipi reception back on the North Shore. Guests were taken to and from the ceremony via the Rutland Belle whilst Emily and Greg had the most divine vintage Porsche. Emily looked stunning in her Jenny Packham dress with natural foliage and a berries flower crown whilst the tipi was styled by the lovely Tara of Ticketyboo Events with lots of snuggly blankets and vintage props.
With no facilities on site everything had to be brought in and what hero’s they were, struggling against the wind and the cold! Guests were treated to a sublime BBQ wedding breakfast of steak or salmon cooked in a VW Beetle with tea and coffee on hand from a vintage VW split van (which was definitely needed with the wind chill factor blowing off the water!) and the cocktail bar was a stunning vintage Citroen van. Guests were also treated to a sweet feast with a dessert table from the wonderful Yummy Little Cakes which contained, cakes, doughnuts, chocolates and meringues and was topped off with the cutest Flamingo cake topper!
In the evening the older guests retired to the ‘chill out’ bell tent whilst everyone else partied until the small hours to the DJ. The day was superb, an amazing amount of love in the tipi’s for the Bride and Groom and guests who were there to celebrate with them no matter what the weather threw at them! We had a challenging day due to the weather but without doubt this wedding was full of lovely guests and lots of fun and we had a great day celebrating with them.
