Joanna + Christopher’s Summer Marquee Wedding
On a beautiful May day in the grounds of the Groom’s stunning family home, we had the pleasure of assisting Joanna and Chris with the planning of their marquee wedding.
Joanna and her bride squad chose to get ready at Joanna’s family home, with curlers aplenty and the bubbles flowing as the lovely Jade Walker did their hair and make up. Joanna’s talented Aunt added a personal touch to the day by handcrafting the bridesmaids gowns from amazing floral embroidered tulle, as well as turning her hand to creating the Mother of the Bride’s beautiful dress.
Meanwhile Christopher and the groomsmen enjoyed a relaxed morning getting suited and booted at his family home before heading to the pub, whilst his Father finalised the polishing of his vintage Alvis which had the honour of transporting Joanna to the Church.
Joanna wowed as she walked up the aisle in her elegantly classic dress by The Tailors Cat to meet her dashing groom. Their ceremony was full of love and included a personal sermon by a close friend.
Guests then walked through the churchyard and into the gardens for fizz and canapés and a first look at the clear roof marquee from Countryside Marquees, which had been orientated to highlight the view of the church in which they had just said their ‘I do’s’. Joanna had wanted a clear roof so that the marquee felt as if it was part of the gardens.
Further personal touches were present throughout the day with the florals completed by a family friend, Nell’s Floral Design, and Joanna’s Aunt turning her creative hands to a different medium and providing all 3 yummy wedding cakes.
Their delicious wedding breakfast was provided by Portfolio Events, who also delighted the dancing crowd with the perfect drunken delights of bacon baps and cheese into the evening. Getting the couple and their guests on the dance floor were The Blue Rinse band, who kept the celebrations in full swing late into the night.
