Karen + Robert’s Riverside Wedding
Our last wedding of 2018 was the beautiful riverside wedding of Karen & Robert. These two beautiful souls found love later in life and it was a lovely intimate wedding full of laughter, love and warmth. A church service followed by a reception in a hall with connections close to Robert and his family.
We were lucky enough to be recommended to Karen + Robert by their photographers who realised at their first meeting that there was a requirement to manage the day and bring all the suppliers and decor together.
With Karen and the girls getting ready in their Victorian cottage, Robert choose the Old Bridge Hotel for his groom prep location.
The girls had the lovely Kerry of Cambridge Make Up Artist for their hair and make up and Jenny the couple’s adorable cat also had her own mini photoshoot.
Karen made her way to church driven by her Uncle in his vintage Jaguar and she looked beautiful in her soft blush pink dress from The Tailors Cat.
The florals were fabulous and from the super talented Emily Tallulah Flowers. The reception florals were minimal with eucalyptus and foliage runners which looked fabulous against the dark wood of the trestle tables.
The couples first date was over tea and cake at Tom’s Cakes shop so it was inevitable that the couple went to Tom’s Cakes for their wedding cake! The wedding reception looked magical with the glow of fairy lights under a festoon canopy. Rustic wooden trestle tables and chairs were hired from Rustic Hire.
The catering was also provided Tom’s Cakes and guests tucked into hearty food for the soul; beef in Adnam’s ale and chicken tagine with literally the best dessert table following! Reception drinks and tea and coffee were served from Bessie, a vintage Citroen H van.
The evening entertainment was a DJ with the couple leaving with sparkler send off before being whisked to Hotel Du Vin in Cambridge for the first part of their mini-moon.
