Congratulations on your engagement!  This is without doubt one of the most exciting periods of your life; friends and family will be delighted for you and of course everyone wants to see ‘the’ ring.  You will no doubt have taken the first opportunity to rush to the newsagents and purchase a stack of bridal and wedding magazines to flick through; you may have joined blogging and Facebook wedding pages and are generally on cloud nine.  This may now also be the first time that you have sat back and wondered just how are you going to plan a wedding when you haven’t the first idea where to start.  Organising a wedding should be exciting and not a daunting task.

After the initial jubilation it is time to set the ground rules and these are namely the guest list and the budget; perhaps when you sit down with your family together with your fiancé you might have the first suggestions or discussions with regards hiring a professional planner?

Do we need a wedding planner?

Not all couple’s will require a planner; the majority of our clients are those who wish to hold a marquee reception but do not feel they have the necessary experience that a marquee reception requires; they are complex events to host and the logistics can be challenging.  We specialise in marquee weddings of all varieties (tipi’s, clearspan’s, traditional’s, capri’s, pagoda’s – the list is endless) and love the diversity of working with a blank canvas and bringing a vision to reality.

Clients often hire us who perhaps work and live in London but are marrying in their home county or who perhaps live and work overseas but are hosting their wedding and/or reception in the UK and need somebody ‘on the ground’ to bring everything together.

We also have clients who simply have busy professional lives who are time short and need to enlist the skills of a professional planner.

Finally, we are hired by couples who have perhaps arranged their wedding and require additional help with sourcing their final suppliers or who simply wish to hand over the management in the final few weeks to a planner.  We can also help couples who perhaps are struggling to bring a theme together.

Essentially we are hired for the following reasons:

  • marquee experience
  • lack of time or different living and wedding locations
  • help with final preparation/on the day management

Can we afford a wedding planner?

Whether you can afford a planner depends on what you require from them and how much budget you have available.  If you have a budget of £30k upwards then it is likely that you would need a planner to bring styling, creativity and management with a ‘Full Planning‘ service.  If your budget is less than £25k then you probably do not need a full planning service but might however benefit from a ‘Wedding Day Management or ‘Marquee Management’ service.  Ultimately a planner wants to give you the most wonderful, stress free day all within or under your allocated budget.  Our biggest thrill as a planner is bringing to life all of the conversations/photos/images etc that have been used or talked about throughout the planning process to bring the wedding together.  To be able to share in the excitement and enjoyment in your special day drives us to provide the very best service we can and to continually strive to exceed our clients expectations.

What can we help you with?

We are generally involved from just after the engagement for our ‘full planning’ service and are therefore with you from the very start; including venue sourcing, all supplier sourcing, budget management, design, creativity and of course the management of suppliers/venue on the day.  Our fees for this service are 10% of budget (excluding items such as rings, wedding attire, honeymoon).

For our ‘wedding day’ management service we can be involved anything up to 1-3 months before the wedding day.  We take over the management of any existing contracts with suppliers you have entered into and source any outstanding suppliers or suggest recommendations to the wedding day schedule.  Our fee for this service starts from £450 and is dependant on guest numbers and venue type.

If you think that we could help you with any aspect of your wedding planning then please call me (Vanessa) on 07595 986476 or email me at info@rocksandfrocks.co.uk  If you are curious to find out more about us; please head over to our website to view our services and read testimonials and view images from our previous clients.

Happy planning
Vanessa
